Herr Epsilon
(Can you believe that? Buying PC games in stores? I'm feeling old already)
Stinkek
Oh, okay, that's nice. (We always did that before Dad discovered casual games, then we started downloading more. I don't remember when was the last time I bought a game or what that game even was.)
Herr Epsilon
I've become quite an active gamer since then. Although I've always been more interested in games as a storytelling medium. Consequently I mostly play adventure games, some RPGs, and occasionally a story-driven action game (like, most recently A Plague Tale - the French do have a margin in making artistic games). Fortunately games with really good stories that interest me aren't too common, so I'm not sinking too much of my time into it...

Before/at about the same age that I got introduced to the XXL series, I just played a lot of other (crappy) licensed games for PC, like of "Löwenzahn", "Die Olchis", "Felix der Hase", "Ritter Rost", "Komissar Kugelblitz" and stuff like that (only Germans might know these) ^^
Herr Epsilon
Ach Gott, die Löwenzahnreihe! "Wo ist was?" "Klaus-Dieter!"

@Martyste Tendertail @MoistMan the best way to play it is on an original US 1.0 release with the SilentPatches applied to it. It's so juicy ❤️

The first videogame I played in my life was Gran Turismo 3 in a friend's birthday, I was 9 years old. Next games I played were Harry Potter 2, Ratchet & Clank 3, and some not very known games based on movies and tv series, still at friend's homes because I didn't get my first console until I was 10, a PS2. XXL was one of the first games I owned and played in my house. I got it just 8 days after getting the PS2. Around the same age I played XXL I mostly played licensed games, some of which would be considered crappy by most people. I also played the first Ratchet & Clank trilogy, Harry Potter 1-4, Pitfall: The Lost Expedition, Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, all for PS2. The only PC games I played at that time were mostly old empire-building RPGs based on Rome and Egypt. My second console was Nintendo DS and I mostly played Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros, and the Professor Layton series. I bought XXL 2 for 40€ (one of my biggest spending in a game) thinking it would be similar to the first one, but I was a bit disappointed. It felt too slow and repetitive, I didn't enjoy it much. I finished it like 10 years ago and have never played it again.

Sorry, I meant Gran Turismo 4 And Ratchet & Clank 3 is also one of my favourite games ever, the one I played the most hours when I was child
