My only logical guess is that the furry haters think it's zoophilia. Fairly certain that zoophiles existed WAY before furries, and any furry with at least 2 brain cells wouldn't want anything to do with a zoophile even if they were a furry too.

Indeed. Not that I can deny the staggering ammount of furry pornogrophy but I honestly don't think that's evidence towards the idea that one is out of controlled. It's a small minority who doesn't have any sexual desiers and most of people in general keep that shit hidden inside. Furries as far as I can tell are on average more open about it at which point one can ask which is better. Keeping it all hidden inside as the mind slowly breaks, or finding people who one can be honest with without having to worry about rejection.
It's one of many things that there's no base to actually hate, because it in no way harms the things that others hold dear.
I may call myself a furry but I find most furry art boring these days. IDK, it just feels generic and lacking character
