After playing a couple of 90's non-PC, non-PS1 platformers (an Asterix one, a Tom and Jerry one) and seeing footage of another Asterix one, I can't help wondering: was it typical for games back then to be so fucking difficult/plain unfair that it defeats the entire purpose of them being games? You know, fun? I don't see how being jumpscared by enemies on a regular basis or being unable to avoid them is fun. This post was brought to you by a 2000's gaming gal
