they were probably worried that the game wouldn't do well over here as a 3DS exclusive :/ Plus, there were tons of localization problems, such as Phoenix' ancestor being Japanese while the previously localized games never mentioned that, and especially the copyright problems with Sherlock Holmes, which is still not in public domain in some parts of the world.
