You've made quite a journey already, speedrunning the game despite you having only ever a casual approach to it.
I didn't use any cheat programs, I started a new game and saved it to the only free slot I had, and I didn't stop playing ||even when my father distracted me after I did something in Greece||
That's 100% fine in my book
Make a speedrun.com account and submit it!
It still could've been faster though, here are some wrong things:
- Death in Normandy which broke the... is this what you call "passive lock"? When I respawned, the enemy counter disappeared and appeared with a normal number when I approached a place of battle. I restarted Normandy because of that
- At the start of Greece it took me a while to try to stand near the pedlar in the tiny correct spot, and then I saw I didn't have enough helmets even for the Power Hammer Combo
- fucking tall Romans keep smacking me with their sharp things
- I remembered the Tardis glitch, then realised I broke the crate I needed already
- those Romans with sticks pushed me a lot in Helvetia
- I died once attempting the catapult trick in Rome
yeah, the staying enemy counter is our Passive Lock
Can you elaborate on what you mean by using save files? All my slots have games saved in them, but I don't mind replacing one saved game with a new speedrun.
What I meant is using save files as a way to split your run...
Which you most likely didn't
I... don't even have a clear idea what this means... So yeah, I didn't.
Whenever I completed a world, I'd save the game in the same slot
Yeah don't worry, if you started a new game and completed it all in one sitting, it's all fine :)
nice attempt, submit it to speedrun.com

and as a little hint for Rome: Always jump when the stone on the catapult respawns. This way you'll get it pretty much every single time 😄
"You're still faster than my couple first runs"
*checks obsoleted runs*
Oh, he literally meant I was faster than the two of his longest runs.
But wait... The rules for XXL speedruns state: "Time starts when you can move Asterix after the intro cutscene. Time ends when you hit the last button in Rome."
Does this time include failed attempts to speedrun a specific world (e.g. losing passive lock because you died, and thus restarting the world because it would become a normal run otherwise)?
Also, the lack of ability to write free text on your profile on speedrun.com kinda bothers me. What if I wanted to write things from "I'm unable to use the autosplitter because I don't use Windows 8 or newer system" to "dad got this game for me when i was too small to play it properly lol"?
Yes, that includes absolutely everything. You must never stop the timer. We only deduct the loading times
there are segmented runs which might be interesting for you aswell. You play a certain area(world in our case) and submit it without a full run
There's some OBS Plugin for LiveSplit, what does it do?
That‘s used for the video autosplitter if I remember correct
