Noxus94
I only thought of those where you are flying into absolutely nothing then
Noxus94
So, Anthony. Did you find a way to be able to record the game again, or are you simply not interested? 😛
MrFantasticle
Oh yeah its fine now
MrFantasticle
I really don't feel like playing though
MrFantasticle
Go find a good strat first then i'll play 🤗
Noxus94
Well, you'll never return to the game then, as it seems 😄
Noxus94
There is one potential thing about the softlock, though. You will see it in the video in a few minutes
Noxus94
But I guess it's rather "interesting" than "helpful"

Noxus94
Pay attention to Asterix & Ideafix as soon as I softlock

Interesting. I guess, Obelix is in a part of the level, that was just unloaded, so he doesn't have any environment to react to. The pathfinding AI of Asterix and Dogmatix probably can't find Obelix, because he is out of bounds (so there is no path).
Noxus94
Well, I also managed to get Obelix stuck close enough to the loaded zone, so Asterix got back to Obelix, then the area reloaded and I could play as usual
pyramidensurfer
I guess that really doesn't help anywhere, as long as you can't move in the unloaded area, or at least fall down to something. Unrelated, but: I believe I remember (from a long time ago) that it was possible to get the first Laurel in Rome multiple times. However, at least in Dolphin, i seem to be incapable of replicating that. Do you know anything about that?
Noxus94
Marty once told me, too, that it would be possible. But I have absolutely no idea how

Sick :D
pyramidensurfer
IIRC, you just needed to reload the level and hit the wheel again. Maybe that was fixed for the GC Version? However, it is useless, as long as you need to collect "all 51" Laurels and not just 51 by number by the rules.
Noxus94
But games don't like it when you get more items of something than it wants you to have. In FF IV for example you can get around the 99 item barrier and as soon as you get the 100th item the game automatically warps you to the credits
pyramidensurfer
You could get the counter over 51. I don't think I ever tried more than 53 (but that was about 10 years ago). Maybe it bugs out at 64 or 128. But even if you could overwrite some memory with that, it would take way too long to be useful in any way.
Noxus94
yeah, that's the usual problem. I'd still test it, though
Noxus94
but how can you use the wheel again without resetting the level and thus losing the laurel again?
