Ok, so I presume that the same category of romans sometimes take away your flybash, and sometimes not, but is it related to a specific place or neither.
even completely identical kinds of Romans behave different with that
some of them even let you keep your flybash when you kill them instead of only punching them once
also, I think I saw a difference in the couldown of the canons, is it just me or is it also related to flybash...
never felt any difference, but that might as well be because I never payed any attention to it when using a canon

since both, hitting and shooting the canon ,use the "action button" it's theoretically possible. Maybe I'll have a look at it
even if it is, it doesn't represent an important "time save possibility"... imo at least
