There is actually a making-of of the dub

@deathhound246 I tried to make the newer XXL Editor work on Alice files. Not everything is loaded, but I managed to load textures, sounds and some game logic stuff. There was a difference in the grounds (collision model) as Alice added a 32-bit number at the middle of it, so it couldn't be opened on the older editor, but in the newer editor I just managed to fix it:

I'm trying to make it support geometries, it seems the only difference is that Alice added 5 bytes at the end, that's why they still worked fine in the older editor.
deathhound246
the old editor does support geometry to an extent. i used it to extract all geometry to .obj files, and i stuck them into blender, which loads a good portion of the map. i guess it's only the build in scene viewer with pykedit that doesnt fully load it
deathhound246
this looks amazing though! thanks so much for the help!
adrientd
No problem 🙂

With the newer editor you will be able to export as DFF (which can be imported to Blender via DragonFF plugin) keeping some properties and also for characters it will come with rigging
deathhound246
oh, it's for importing renderware stuff. ik that alice uses renderware for it's audio, but it now sounds like the whole Kal engine is kinda built on top of RW?
adrientd
Yeah it uses both Renderware Graphics and Renderware Audio
adrientd
not sure if it uses other Renderware APIs
adrientd
the rest seems to be custom
herrepsilon
Incredible, all the major ELB titles are supported now...
adrientd
Yup, almost ones, the only remaining one to check is How to train your Dragon
baku69
wut
baku69
they've actually developed how to train your dragon game ?
