Of course you will predict some sounds correctly when you list like 14 things
schmeling65
I actually thought about them being different instead of just listing them

It seems that a lot more has reverb applied to it (or maybe it's applied globally? ) but it's not as noticeable
pegperegogaucho
The game was generally quieter with no reverb, but maybe it's just me
pegperegogaucho
@schmeling65 UXXL no reverb run when?
schmeling65
to the first part: with reverb the sounds more like it has some distance or space between the entity and the player/camera while without reverb it just sounds flat on left, right or middle
schmeling65
I still have 24H2, I can enjoy reverb
pegperegogaucho
You can turn it off

`This time, they just yanked DirectSoundI3DL2ReverbDMO from the COM interfaces. That’s the reverb effect our game uses, and sadly, it doesn’t expect this kind of trickery and fails to check if the interface initialized properly. Luckily, some kind folks have already created a wrapper that translates DirectSound calls to OpenAL.`

Lol, can that thing work also with xxl
schmeling65
but the symptoms and the description look promising actually ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

`Updated to Windows 11 24H2 and now your game crashes on launch? Well, thank Microsoft—they’ve once again decided that maintaining compatibility with old software is too much of a hassle` Yep
schmeling65
Feel free to try it out and see if it works or not. That might also prevent the performance drop on startup
baku69
Not home rn
baku69
Will try it later
hesopesomeso
I will, on my wm... looks fishy but maybe promising?
