An oldder version for old blender versions (2.79 and 2.80 I guess) got updated for latest versions. So maybe you are able to export/import something and can edit it without losing stuff.

I prefer controller, it has more inputs than keyboard.

"More" is the wrong term. Mote accurate fits better. Bur your fingers get hit by fatigue much faster than on keyboard

More is fine; keyboard key has two states, whilst a controller key has almost a full byte. You cannot slow walk with the keyboard, either.
