I played original XXL on a ps2 emulator somd months ago. It's astonishing how a decades old game runs só much smoother and "snappier" than a modern remake does. I'm never playing the microid games again.
xxl 2's remake is still bugged on steam and will only hit 30 without modifications
it's incredible how poorly put together the remakes are
Yeah, I too remember XXL 2's remake. Was só disappointed at the low frame rate, and the cutscenes is so worse
xxl 2 runs at 60 on the psp there's no reason for it to have it's fps halved in the remake
The new Microid games are the definition of a poorly made remaster
PvZ did also suffer in the new replanted game
It should be called PvZ: AI Upscaled
Game is so shitty, i've tried it on the cracked version, before it even released, cause the files were leaked in the EA launcher files, or sth like that and it was immediately posted on some sites xd
20 euro for that crap is too much - micropp moment
all tho the leaked could be some prototype or beta shit
i am not trying to deafend it just saying
the cutscenes are definately unforgivable. Not only were they reduced from 50 to 30 fps, but they were compressed and desaturated some more.
While the PS2 version does target 50fps at most times, there are moments when the game may have difficulty keeping up, and momentarily drop to 25.
Olympic Games goes down to 25 *most* of the time.
The worst problems my PS2 copy has with fps is at the entrance to WCW
oh yeah, a very busy area visually, protentially with overdraw from all the columns
i never noticed a frame drop all tho i never cared as child
