When I punch the button to open the gates for Obelix, I noticed with a frame-by-frame ~~deep ~~ analysis
alatinn
Obelix seems to teleport directly into the cave, instead of me walking in it through the gates
alatinn
Thus, I'm wondering why it happend
alatinn
I'm also wondering whether entering through another arch in that button area would change anything (the time spent walking in that area before we press the button, for instance)
hesopesomeso
Are you sure? To me it seems like you were perfectly aligned and went through the gate. It almost looks like you jumped there.
alatinn
I don't think so cause the gates take time to open, and they open towards the exterior (ie towards Obelix), so, even if you're perfectly aligned, I think you will not be able to go through until a bit...
alatinn
Actually, in my attempt, when the camera switches, Obelix is still there...
alatinn
While he's supposed to have teleported behind the gates
alatinn
...
alatinn
I guess it's the now infamous thing where he's not in waiting position for some reason
hesopesomeso
I don't think he's getting tped into the cave - I tried grabbing a roman with obelix, and when I pressed the button, he was still away from the cave.
hesopesomeso
Not quite

So this was with perfect alignment?
hesopesomeso
Btw. there is an easy passive lock (Not that we need it + it's slow). Press the button with Asterix, die as Obelix. The gates will be open after respawn and you will be playing as Asterix. Trigger the level lock & continue.

Dunno XD

Not bad! I've nearly died to that spiky ball several times, so it might be useful one day
hesopesomeso
XD Maybe as a backup strat for marathon like runs, if one ever dies in Normandy
