The prototypes have been known and scrutinized for almost 6 years now :p

XXL1 is like almost completely identical, meanwhile XXL2 was more significant of a roll back, enough to have tons of unfinished cutscenes and some unpolished levels. It offered another point of view through a concept art dump video, of cancelled bits of the game, who's parts can be extracted from the 2018 remaster.

From my actual measurements, to load into Normandy stage 1: PS2: 13 seconds PS3: 7 seconds PCSX2 with fast DVD: 6 seconds Gamecube/Dolphin: 9 seconds Wii: 7 seconds Wii U: 5 Seconds

So it's even faster on pcsx2 than game cube

Yes, but achieved by pulling in PC speedhacks that wouldn't be possible on real hardware.

Unfortunately Dolphin doesn't have a similar hack. At least it's still real hardware doing the fastest load time ( the Wii U is hardware compatible with GC, but must read the game data from USB )

If you don't check that fast DVD thing on PCSX2 it will be as slow as the real one.

Could you give me some footage of you doing the old strat then? I should be able to do a better comparison then.

I personally think it's more than 1s, but after another look, it's less than 4s.

Failentin actually gave me this idea when I saw he had to buy the combo in Egypt and get back up on the plateform before the canon ^^

This is pretty much the same height, and from a higher spot, you can land on these kinds of platforms...

Maybe there are other spots in the run where we can do the same... (I didn't look into it though)
