XXL1 had awesome tracks though
My soundtrack tier list:
XXL1 > OG > XXL2
XXL1 > XXL2 > GW > OG > XXL3
I can hardly even remember any XXL 3 music despite playing it (with Pyramiden via Parsec) while wearing headphones
GW OST has strong catchy melodies
Although I didnt play through XXL3, I did listen to some of the soundtrack. Didnt like it, not a fan of pure orchestral stuff. XXL1 had very rememberable tracks and they all sounded unique.
XXL2's soundtrack is heavily underrated in my opinion
i dont like xxl 2 battle themes
Where is that XXL 2 zone in OG ?
Don't remember seeing it in this game ... :/

XXL1 put a lot of emphasis on rhythm mixed with some memorable melodies, and it's incredibly good overall. XXL2 put its emphasis more on the melodies, and I'd say it has the most memorable melodies of the series (the main theme is *so* good). What I just love about the ost of XXL2 is how coherent and subtle it is: For example, the Caesar Palace theme is hinted at in many tracks in the game (Venice theme, Peaceful Parks, which is also a variation of Venice, Internetus, Toilet Room), which makes its "full" appearance in the last level of the game all the more epic. Of course, how Laforest used the main theme in such a huge amount of the tracks in different clever ways is pure genius as well, and I *love* how he even referenced the leitmotif from XXL1 in a number of tracks, even at the end in the main theme of XXL2 itself.
The battle themes are awesome and very catchy as well, my favorite being "Battle Theme 2", which is undoubtedly composed as the Luxor fight theme. Not only does it feature the vocal Luxor theme, it even has a subtle reference to the Luxor interior theme ("Luxury Halls"). Only battle theme that is arguably a bit jarring is the Pirates Island fight theme.
I'd also go as far as to say that the instrumentation Laforest used in XXL2 is the best of his trilogy, every track, especially the ones featuring synth, sound soo amazing.
Only complaint I have about the soundtrack is that it's too short - too little of everything, especially the battle themes, which is why they had to reuse tracks in places where they didn't actually belong.
Sorry, I got a bit passionate about this xD
As we say in french : "Pavé César"...
"Ceux qui ne vont pas lire te saluent"
Yes i agree that XXL2 main theme is amazing
