All I know is that the devs made Toki under Microids publishing, and i never heard any complaints about that game, it plays and feels faithful to the arcade original, apparently.

The XXL games don’t really take countering into consideration, it’s a much more traditional beat em up. Which is why the extreme version on XXL Romaster is boring and annoying.
