Been watching a friend play through all the AA's and he's just about to start the final act of the final case in AA5... AKA the good case (rest are meh).

I can't wait for you to do so and to tell me your opinion on it 😄 It's legit become my favorite game of the series and my favorite game in general (especially the second game in the collection, the first one is arguably a weaker entry)
yarnfang
Cool coo. Wonder if any of them can top the 3rd game for me (not holding any hope).
yarnfang
Also.

Imagine if the prosecutors in Ace Attorney actually started swearing
Failentin
Instead the closest we get is "Fuuudge", "Holy Shinto" and "Son of a witch" :D
yarnfang
Kinda feel like it would ruin the charm :3
yarnfang
But it would be good for a single largh.
Failentin
also true xD

Alright, so Adrien suggested that talking about other ELB games could be interesting. I have some time, so let's see if we can get something started: Did any of you ever play other games by Etranges Libellules than just the XXL trilogy, and if so which ones? In my XXL hype phase I played - Pinkadelic Pursuit (found it by chance in the bargain bin of a small game store in Montpellier for 6€ - it's a short game, but with a great soundtrack by Laforest and a beautiful art style that follows the graphical surrealism of the early Pink Panther shorts neatly - the "fetch & hide" gameplay is an interesting twist on typical 2D platformers) - Arthur and the Invisibles (bought it while on sale at my local game store because of the ELB logo - the game stopped working after the first time I played it, so I only finished around 20% of it and never got it to work again, so I don't remember a lot, other than it was built pretty much on the exact same iteration of their engine as Olympic Games - the gameplay is virtually the same, the atmosphere is nice, judging from the fraction I played it might be considerably longer than OG - I recently downloaded and archived a PS2 ISO of it, so I might finish it some day)

- Dawn of the Dragon (I started playing it on a friend's Wii in coop when it came out, up until the halfway point and only finished it on a PS3 emulator this summer - a great game imo, arguably the most refined one they ever made, and certainly the longest, but it does have its flaws: The flying mechanic is fun, but you're constantly being constrained by wind currents that are placed in the game as invisible walls to prevent you from getting to places the easy way, and it's the ELB game with the most restrictive camera - there are more places where the camera is fixed or on rails than free to control and that has always annoyed me about their games, some areas don't seem as big and epic as they were supposed to be, in short you can clearly see them fighting against their engine limitations in this one) - Alice in Wonderland (bought it used on Amazon in 2013 or so, because I wanted to see how ELB's last big game turned out - it's their most creative game by far, you play as five different characters from Wonderland (no coop) who all have extremely unique abilities that are used in combat and in puzzles, some of them I have never seen implemented in any game before or after this one... Unfortunately the graphics are somewhat ugly, the level design varies between okay and really bad, the puzzles follow a kind of random anti-logic that fits Wonderland but can sometimes get annoying, the game is padded out with too many fights and backtracking near the end, and also the soundtrack was provided by Disney and is absolutely not memorable)

- How to Train Your Dragon (I tried it briefly on an emulator in 2011, didn't finish it, and now I can't find an ISO anywhere - it's a fighting game at the core, the training-your-dragons part is done through minigames, and only the small hub world, where you go to find ingredients and sometimes story items, is freely explorable in typical ELB fashion - graphically it's the most beautiful game ELB has ever made imo, but the one level gets old quickly and I wasn't really interested in the training or fighting) So, the only ELB games I never played are Kirikou (downloaded and archived it recently, along with Arthur) and Gunul & Cléo (that one will probably be lost media forever) :TotalKappa:
