To come back to this, 0x10 is used for dynamic grounds of crates, to guide a bonus towards some (non-dynamic) ground. If a bonus drops on a dynamic ground (like a crate), if this flag is not set, it will just float. Otherwise it'll try to find some nice ground to drop it on. As you said, boring.

1. There is no wait time after the bonus "drops"
2. The homing force is set to the drop direction, so it doesn't start from zero.
This only applies if the bonus is to be dropped though

Yes, in the latest dev builds you can export animations (in Renderware .ANM format) which can then be imported to Blender via a plugin.
