I believe the only restriction is that it has to be mono and that the encoding has to be something specific (like 16-bit PCM or something, not sure right now)
pegperegogaucho
But other than that it is as easy as clicking a button
rat_min
alright, ah if it's 8bit, i am gonna have to find a new sound editor, the video editor i use can't export Wave in 8bit i believe But thanks for that info still !
hesopesomeso
8-bit PCM??? Not 16-bit PCM?
pegperegogaucho
I just checked, the game uses 16bit PCM, looks like I misremembered :Obelul:
rat_min
nvm i guess i ain't changing it lol
rat_min
ah well i tried one but i got a error, most likely skill issue lol
rat_min
it says the file doesn't contain uncompressed mono 8/16bit PCM wave data idk what it means by uncrompressed, but the file is already in 16bit & is mono. i'll try something else.
rat_min
i do get a assertion failed message too
pegperegogaucho
mabe try a sample rate of 22050Hz
rat_min
i'll try that
adrientd
Can you check the format with VLC? Supported formats are: - unsigned 8bit PCM - signed 16bit PCM - 32-bit floats The editor will convert to 16bit PCM when importing.
rat_min
okay so it worked, the problem was the sample rate
rat_min
after changing it to 22 050Hz, it managed to get imported into the asterix editor
rat_min
i managed to import the wav file, problem was the sample rate. or was there something else you wanted to see ?
adrientd
Ah ok, then in that case the error message is misleading :Obelul:
deathhound246
not directly related to the editor, and unsure if its the same in XXL (im hoping it is), why are the speech files named like this and what does it mean? i've tried to compare the file name with their hashes in various algorithms (sha1, md5 etc) but nothing matches. more just curious about it
adrientd
They look like GUIDs
adrientd
In fact, the 9th digit is always 4. Meaning it is a GUID type 4.
deathhound246
how can i find the guid of a file xd
