It was Indeed a color space Issue. The vertex color space was sRGB instead of linear RGB

I decided to ask Mat if anyone in the team had found existing transitions or not. There's a chance ELB simply removed them from the LVL as otherwise one would show up right behind the entry door. However there could still be traces of them in the documentation from ELB
