baku69

I thought it was full any%

Turns out, i did have Dsound.dll active on this PC, but the performance was indeed overkilling so hard I though i had removed it. But the weirdest part is, Dsound.dll is *reducing* my framerate!
martyste
Normandy spawn screen: 1000-1050 with Dsound, 1200-1250 without. And it's a 1300-1600 difference when turnin the camera to the back of the level.
martyste
So the dsound.dll patch must be taken with a grain of salt, because some hardware will perform worse with it. Possibly AMD GPUs/CPUs.... we need more testing with people using the frame unlimiter thingy.
baku69
I have AMD cpu and nvidia GPU and without dsound my game works only in like 45 fps
baku69
With patch it works on around 62
martyste
and i even got a crash jumping into water with dsound active ( possibly a rare chance with the unlocked framerate screwing the vfx )
baku69
On unlocked fps it works on 230
martyste
I see.... so yeah with your low maximum you're deadly affected
martyste
what's those GPU/CPUs?
martyste
Since, indeed we're dealing with an approximate 200fps loss for both opposite sides of the coin.
hesopesomeso
Marty, the dsound (indirect sound) is not even an FPS patch! It should just restore some old audio stuff. Or improve it, iirc.

Ryzen 7 8700** ?? And gtx 1650ti 4vram + 32gb of ram
martyste
I know heso. But it has influence on the framerate.
hesopesomeso
It does, it does. Since it replaces (in places) the original audio interface.
