Sorry guys for barging in like that... but are any of you guys actually interested in the MMR race ? I haven't heard of any talk, soo... Most people in general especially outside western europe aren't super familiar or interested in Asterix, but I'd personally be so happy if it could make it. I'd also want to see the second game make an appearance in a future I've never seen gameplay of those particular two games before, even though I've heard they were quite the trip. So I'd love to be able to see speedrunners wreck the game while casually chatting and messing around *Especially* after hearing about stuff like the so-called toilet skip, or how you can even fly and stuff. Trust me guys, I think you're not the only ones who want to know that stuff. Well, enough advertizement (even tho it's genuine). I haven't heard anyone react or say anything about the announcement, so I have to step in... as I need to determine whether people are interested in participating at all, else we're gonna have no choice but to scrap the game for the current edition.

I can participate in the event, from what I heard also @failentin is interested, no idea what with other people, I think someone like @nekin, @hesopesomeso, @jeanpierrenator or @alatinn could take part in sth like that, community is not so big, there is around 100 people, and max 4/5 people actively speedrun some of the xxl games, so I have no idea if that amount of people will be even enough for such an event, but who knows, maybe

Also you said that people who wanna participate need to have submitted pb on sp.com, for example @hesopesomeso doesnt have any submitted full runs, only segment ones, but for example his unsubmitted any% pb from xxl 1 is around 1:04:20 - which is like 3rd place xD, so what now, if he would like to take part in the event, what he would need to do, show unsubmitted pb or what xD ? Like i see that people need to have submitted PBS etc, but what if some of the people know how to run the game, but run only segments, they can not take part in it or what ?

We'd love to, but lotta people have already moved to XXL2 or are very busy. Many OG players are no longer running the game. The community isn't so active in terms of running the games anymore, partly due to being very broken. We need time to rally people. I for one would love to participate - how many people in total would be needed?

Community size doesn't matter, it's the active player count that does. 4-5 actively running the game is honestly great for any small community. So no worries about that Well... usually, speedrunners tend to submit their time to src, *especially* as they're coming closer to top times. So for a speedrunner to not submit anything anywhere is quite unusual 😅 and if he doesn't want to do that, it'll be quite the unusual situation... But, well, I think that if you do have video of your best time over the category (*as in the category that you're intending to play*... which hasn't been decided yet afaik), then I think there should be nothing wrong with adding the link of that video to your oengus submission (instead of a src link). I'll also ask the organizers about this edge case situation. It should come as positive I think.

I don't really wanna pronounce myself so soon about my ability, because 1 i'm *the* OG runner and the most rusty overall, I can pull a fast and impressive time for the casuals but not as impressive as my friends here. And also not quite sure if i'll indeed be at home in mid september.

I may however try and fill in, if emergency.

Yeah that is one thing I'm worried about, not being available, since the event is not so soonish.
