i think that is only if the mapping you are changing to is taken
slow turn, keep in mind, doesn't naturally exist as a keyboard key, and can *only* be manifested as a keyboard action by swapping with a controller
mmmh fine i'll experiment one last time on concurrent PC ( we've now established irrelevance of game version )
i am remapping center key from button 11 to 6 ( L2 ) that is sitting unused in my setup
so for now, only controller involved, starting from a normal situation where center camera held both functions on R3.
and imediately, the functions are decoupled! L2 takes fast turn and leaves slow turn behind.
yeah, i just don't see how they map both the actions, there is only one being remapped!
you can effectively only move slow turn by swapping it with another used key...
you have to bind the current slow turn key back to center camera, to then send slow turn to the former key. yeah, what a mess indeed!
and it took us 21.5 years to notice!
would make a very odd video if we had a pannenkoek enjoying audience.
"this camera bug hidden in plain sight took 21 years to be noticed"
speaking of which, yeah, 2004 versions turn 21 in one week, i guess
since the game has stored controller defaults, it wouldn't be a bad idea to refactor that into more profiles that would be chosen on controller type detected...
So that popular controllers from console manufacturers are immediately set reasonably correct... and have a sorta hopeful assumption for 3rd party
Because, for me on PS4 controller, the default don't cause a L1 dash for instance, nothing really crazy actually
it only sets confirm to square, mixes the two camera axis, uses L2 to call Dogmatix. Everything else is identical to PS2 binds ( i personally move Show Interface to Select rather than R2 )
oddly enough the binding text suggests the same button can hide interface, even tho it does not, quite the contrary.
Umm... why do I have center camera & launch obelix both on button 5?
