martyste
so my guess is that PC remapping was uncooked... as some actions may not get bound properly. I suspect d-pad being able to work while visibly unbound is a mark of that... as we didn't just patch dpad to mimic left stick or we would be able to move Asterix with it.
martyste
and i thought we had fixed this definitively!
martyste
i hope you don't mind that in any effort to patch this in your projects, we should maintain PS2 behavior and keep both actions to the same key, get them synced.
martyste
now i'm going to try loading controller default on 32-bit to see
hesopesomeso
isn't so the case in the original pc version?
hesopesomeso
they should definitely be synced
martyste
ok, so i reproduced
martyste
on 32-bit, loading controller binds through the top option ( so, leaving behind "personnalised" ) ensures that d-pad can be used for interface, and R3 slow turns the camera
martyste
the only issue being the wrong stick axis.
martyste
so basically until we do a conclusive patch to this, the best course of action is to ask the game to bind stuff for you, then make adjustments.
hesopesomeso
So it behaves correctly? It always maps the slow turn correctly, that being keyboard or controller?
martyste
only if you ask the game to load the defaults it has in store for controller
martyste
if i ask it to load default keyboard binds, not one bind appears to do slow turning....
martyste
V is the default for center camera
hesopesomeso
no i mean, just to confirm, if you rebind the controller button (R3) for center camera to any key (slow turn works ok?), and back, it behaves correctly? (R3 will still slow turn?)
martyste
the moment you decide to rebind Center Camera yourself, you decouple the actions
martyste
new key gets the fast turn, former key takes the slow turn
hesopesomeso
It seems that the bug is in remapping if some other key is taken, because: If you bind slow turn to some key that's not taken and then map it to V and back, slow turns stays on the same key. Otherwise, it breaks.
martyste
and it seems slow turn stays where it is unless center camera changes type.
martyste
so if you rebind center cam to keyboard, then keep changing keyboard keys, that won't update where slow turn is. But if you then put a controller key instead, then slow turn will exchange seats
