If it's made, I'm afraid it'll be similar to XXL3. Sadly, relevant game studios think arcade platformers are outdated. When XXL2 was released they were already in decline. See the evolution of Harry Potter or Ratchet & Clank games as example.
However 3D platformers are getting popular again lately ^^
