the original Crash trilogy has you go through linear levels in a fixed camera angle
stinkek
Oh, yeah, that
kolapro
Yea, crash trilogy is a point a to point b type of game, tho, there are some levels that require backtracking or going on different paths during the level for 100% completion

Are there any save files in the # games, or are they just clean and patched versions
filip5011
my friend wants to try the games, and i dont want to give him a game with speedrun tools lol

You can find some saves in #

just a first cheap attempt at upscaling a texture on PCSX2 ( still a mostly manual process, I didn't involve an AI )

looks great! :D

I'm kinda happy that this "smudge tool" method keeps the visuals and color palette the exact same, but you get to see something smooth when you get too close to a texture. And, bonus, bad clamping effects are reduced! Notice the white lines on the edges of the metal crates. Basically the bilinear texture filtering caused the texture to blur with its own edges. For a repeating texture, it's fine, but for one meant to show only once, you might get that blur on the edges.
martyste
In fact, you can also see that effect in the gradient black texture inside the roman tortoises. A thin black line on the bottom, and a thin transparent line at the top.
martyste
But the higher the texture resolution, the smaller the bilinear filtering gets.
Thankfully, since i'm on PS2 emulator and not PC, high resolution textures won't cause distant shimmering, because there's the option to use auto-generated mipmaps.
martyste
Upscaling these textures will take forever if I remain alone, so if anyone ever wants to participate, the skill level to upscale 3 times and smudge the pixels away is quite low.
martyste
You can dump textures from any version of the game, but rn i'm using PS2 since it's the version that can look the prettiest even compared to PC.

I could help out
filip5011
but I've only got PC version
martyste
well, you can extract textures using the XXL Editor. the only problem would be that extracted textures won't bare the same name as their PS2 counterpart.
martyste
I spent a couple hours today trying to find a way to make a font wideness fix for the PC version using what's been done for PS2, but to absolutely no avail, not even a lead.
martyste
COOL NEWS boys!
I managed to track down and disable the PS2 version's interlacing!

if you wish to try for yourself, either the PAL or NTSC versions:
