broken camera centering functionality
if you decide to swap center camera to another controller button, that new button can fast turn, and the last used keyboard key still holds on to the slow turn!

and also that explains why fast turn triggers only on key release
the game is meant to disable that action if you hold R3 for a certain time on PS2, so during this time fast turn cannot be active
it's a failsafe to ensure it only occurs on light taps
I don't see such a timer on PC. Though, with some shenanigans, you can get the slow turn mapped back on some controller jey.

well granted i only messed up the config on my editor save so it's not a big deal
i found myself in the same situation as you more or less at the start of this conversation, where i have 2 keyboard keys doing each action
I'm looking into how this is caused
here's something that could clue us: in our system, binding interface to left stick doesn't prevent Dpad from controlling interface
soooo there's defo some under-the-hood stuff.
i found out how to fix this
just ask the game to apply "controller" mapping default
and then fix some of the wrong bindings such as confirm being on Square and such
I had dash on L1

slow turn will be properly re-attributed to R3
